Camp Atwater 2024 Summer Session.

Speak up, Speak Out Workshop

SEIU AFRAM Mass at Camp Atwater conducting a Speak Up, Speak Out Campaign workshop during both their boys & girls summer 2024 session. The creativity the campers showed in creating chants and slogans for the campaign and naming their bills was remarkable. Their ability to think critically and come up with impactful ideas was inspiring. The campers also did exceptionally well with their mock campaign and lobby day activities, demonstrating a remarkable understanding of advocacy and leadership. They even excelled in writing a resolution, showing their keen grasp of the legislative process. It's clear that we have future leaders among the ranks at Camp Atwater.
 

Boston Healthcare for the Homeless Bingo (2024)

AFRAM Massachusetts Caucus Volunteering for a Worthy Cause! 🌟 AFRAM had the incredible opportunity to give back to the community by volunteering at the Boston Health Care for the Homeless Program in South End Boston. We were honored to be a part of their weekly bingo activity, and it turned out to be a full house with amazing participation! Despite not capturing it on camera, this event marked one of our biggest turnouts. The energy and enthusiasm from everyone involved were truly heartwarming. 🙌 We're so grateful for the experience and proud to support BHCHP's mission. A special shoutout to AFRAM Mass Local 509 member, Daniel Moss, for putting together such an impactful volunteer opportunity. Also, a big thank you to AmeriCorps members, Brendan and Manuela, for the insightful tour and for allowing us into the space that has been created for those in need.

Bills, Ballots & Voter Registration Social Mixer

 SEIU AFRAM Massachusetts extends our heartfelt thanks to Visionary Acts and White Lion Brewing Company for their incredible partnership in hosting the Bills, Ballots, and Voters Social Mixer on August 23, 2024. Your support made this event possible and impactful for our community.

We also want to express our deepest gratitude to Senator Adam Gomez and his team for your presence and continued commitment to our community. Your dedication to uplifting our voices and advocating for change is invaluable.

Harambee Festival 2024

SEIU AFRAM MASS Engage with the Springfield Community at the 8th Annual Hickory Street Harambee Festival: We had the opportunity to volunteer and manage the Kid Games Session at this year’s festival. The experience was nothing short of inspiring as we witnessed the true meaning of unity and teamwork among the children.
Some kids on teams knew each other, while others didn't, yet they came together, searching for and recruiting others to be part of their teams. It was heartwarming to see them unite for a common goal, embodying the essence of community and collaboration. They taught each other how to play, shared techniques to win, and encouraged one another throughout. While most of the games were purely for fun, there was a valuable lesson in the end: hard work pays off! 💪🏾
We were reminded once again that it truly takes a village
